Wesley Glen Retirement Community Expansion Named After Longtime Board Member

Columbus, OH (August 9, 2012) – The newest facility at Wesley Glen Retirement Community has been officially named the Robert A. Barnes Center after longtime Wesley Glen board member and current resident, Dr. Robert A. Barnes. The Robert A. Barnes Center will provide skilled nursing care and physical therapy services to rehabilitate residents to their maximum level of functioning. Anticipated opening is January of 2013.
“A few months ago, there was some question as to what to name this wonderful facility,” commented Robert Barnes. “We are humbled and honored to be able to contribute to the ongoing success of Wesley Glen,” he said about the very generous gift he and his wife, Betty, made to Wesley Glen. He continued to say, “the state of the art facility itself is more than a skilled nursing facility as it also will house the Kimes Chapel, art studio, beauty shop, library and prayer and meditation room.”
Peg Carmany, CEO of The Wesley Communities, commented, “Our ultimate goal for the Robert A. Barnes Center is to provide an avenue for residents and the community to increase their quality of life, be it physically, emotionally or spiritually. I can’t express how grateful we are that Betty and Bob have chosen to support the Wesley Glen mission in this way.”
Located at 5155 North High Streetive, Reynoldsburg, OH, skilled nursing services will feature:

  • 13 private state-of-the-art rooms
  • 6 spacious companion rooms
  • Family-style dining to encourage resident involvement in preparation and participation
  • Physical, Speech and Occupational Therapy for short-term rehabilitation for Wesley Glen residents and others in the community
  • The Gainer Doctor and Dentist Clinic
