LIFE ENRICHING COMMUNITIES AND THE WESLEY COMMUNITIES

SIGN AFFILIATION LETTER OF INTENT

Loveland, Ohio & Columbus, Ohio – Senior living and services organizations Life Enriching Communities (LEC) and The Wesley Communities (TWC) have signed a Letter of Intent to pursue a full affiliation.

LEC and TWC have been in discussions for several months regarding a full affiliation.  Over the next several weeks, a definitive agreement will be established to finalize the full affiliation to combine the organizations.

“One of our strategic initiatives over the last several years has been to proactively pursue affiliations and partnerships within the senior living sector,” says Scott McQuinn, President/CEO of LEC.  “The senior living landscape has seen significant consolidation and we believe this will continue.  Some of the pressures in the market that are driving this consolidation are the complexities of health care, competition, ability to attract and retain talent, technology, and financial capacity.  We are looking forward to working with the team at The Wesley Communities to establish greater efficiencies and effectiveness to benefit the residents and associates of each community.”

Margaret “Peg” Carmany, CEO of TWC states, “We believe this is the perfect opportunity given that we are both faith-based, mission driven and United Methodist affiliated.  The timing is right, and we are confident the combination is in the best interest of residents and staff now, and those of the future.”

The Wesley Communities (Wesley Glen, Wesley Ridge, Wesley Woods at New Albany, and Wesley Hospice) have a 52-year history of providing independent and assisted living, memory care, nursing, and hospice services in the Columbus area.  The Wesley Communities currently serves more than 650 residents and employs more than 500 associates.

Life Enriching Communities has enjoyed a history of 122 years and currently serves over 2,000 people through senior living communities at Twin Towers (Cincinnati) and Twin Lakes (Montgomery) in greater Cincinnati and Concord Reserve in greater Cleveland – offering accommodations for independent lifestyle, assisted living, memory care, rehabilitative therapies and nursing care, the Life Enriching Communities Foundation and Confident Living, a continuing care at home program.  The organization currently has more than 700 associates.

LEC, located at 6279 Tri-Ridge Blvd., Suite 320, Loveland, Ohio is a private, not-for-profit corporation affiliated with the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church and welcomes people of all faiths.  TWC, located at 5155 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio is a private, not-for-profit corporation affiliated with the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church, welcoming people of all faiths.
