Methodist ElderCare Services is an affiliate of the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church that provides quality housing, health care and services for seniors in Central Ohio. Incorporated in 1967, Methodist ElderCare Services continues to be a not-for-profit Ohio corporation that seeks to understand and meet the unmet needs of older people in Central Ohio in three different ways:
1. As a holding company, Methodist ElderCare provides careful stewardship of its Charitable Care Fund and retirement communities and other assets.
2. As a development company, Methodist ElderCare studies the needs of the elderly and creates new services as appropriate, such as Wesley Hills of Fairfield County, a retirement community now being planned for South Central Ohio.
3. As a management company, Methodist ElderCare efficiently and effectively operates two retirement communities: Wesley Glen and Wesley Ridge.
Methodist ElderCare Services is better known by its highly visible affiliate communities and their activities:
Wesley Glen is an accredited retirement community serving over 400 residents with a full continuum of care in north Columbus.
Wesley Ridge is a retirement community of 160 residents in Reynoldsburg. 16 Ridge Homes and 89 Parkside independent living apartments currently make up the independent living options on the campus.
Life Center operates an adult daytime care program that servers 60 adults in the facilities at Wesley Ridge and in two community United Methodist Churches: Reynoldsburg United Methodist Chruch and Peace United Methodist Church in Pickerington.
Wesley ElderLink is a confidential no-cost national resource to the general public on matters of elderly housing and health care.
